Kayseri City Hall

In the design, it is aimed to design a building with traces of the city consisting of a single focal point with pluralist participation, as it is against the urban consciousness that many associations in Kayseri actually address certain masses as participants. With this understanding, a sustainable idea has been adopted as a result of the work done and the participation of the citizens. The aim of the design is how it develops new perspectives in local and global terms and to strengthen new social, spatial, cultural, and economic cooperation. These are Human rights (health-education-religious solidarity associations), Environmental issues (environment-nature-animal rights associations), Cultural (culture and art associations), Social development (technology-tourism associations), Urban (urbanism associations), Economy (local development - professional solidarity associations). Kayseri City Hall is a pluralist city hall designed to gather the people in the center of the Kayseri. Around the project area, there are some important historical architectural elements such as Gevher Nesibe Madrasah, Avgunlu Madrasah, and Kurşunlu Mosque. Environmental factors were taken into account in the design of the city hall. In the area, there is the main square for the environment and for the gathering point. With the councils' design, it was aimed for the participants to discuss and make decisions on the projects. There are 2 different councils. One of them for the stakeholders (for last decisions). The other for the NGOs(after workshops). There are 4 entries in the center of the courtyard. These are for the cafe, library, conference hall, and main entrance. Free geodesic geometry is used in some parts of the design such as in the foyer, cafe, and gallery space. And also in the library's gallery space top, interaction zone top, and workshop space top. In the facade, there are precast concrete panels with the texture of it.
