Age-Friendly City Hall

          The project area is located in front of the Mimar Sinan Park, placed on Kurşunlu Otopark, Kayseri. The aim of the project is to create a pluralist city hall and according to the research about the Kayseri, lack of communication in society, lack of cultural activities, and conflict between generations are determined. The project aims to create an age-friendly city hall. Festivals, story telling activities, dramatization, oral games, mapping workshops, design thinking workshops and art will be use as a gathering activities. 

As an approach to the site, the road that is located in front of the project area is decided to become a pedestrianized road. The road has importance to provide a connection to Cumhuriyet Square. On that project, a vertical grid system that is used both site plan and facade organization. Aim is creating more visibility around the site. Engineered wood which is Glulam and CLT  is used as a construction system and material. Wooden material is preferred to create a warm environment and lack of environmental impact. Inner facade design is preferred to control sunligt. While outside glass is used, perforated and mass wooden panels are connected inside with the same frame. 

          The building program includes people assembly, meeting rooms, ateliers, workshop areas, training rooms, collaborative and small working groups, discussion platform, cafe, and huge activity space that create a visual connection between training, workshop, and meeting rooms. On the ground floor organization, there are mostly communal places which are cafes, ateliers, people assembly, training, and education rooms. On the second floor organization, there are meeting rooms that have a visual connection with activity space, collaborative working places that has another visual connection with people assembly and cafe, discussion platform that has a visual connection with the atelier.
